NoRushBuy is a browser extension that intercepts you at checkout pages on supported merchants (Amazon, Target, Walmart, DoorDash, Uber Eats) and shows you the real credit card cost of a purchase — including the interest you'd pay over six months at your card's APR. It tracks purchases you choose to skip so you can see what you've saved.
All data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device except as described in the telemetry sections below.
No account, email address, or personal identity is collected.
NoRushBuy sends two types of anonymized telemetry to help us understand how the product is used and improve it. Both are always active. Neither contains personal data.
Usage events (PostHog, EU-hosted): We record actions like "modal shown," "skip clicked," and "buy clicked." Purchase amounts are bucketed into ranges (<$25, $25–$100, $100+) — exact amounts are never sent. Events include your random install ID (used only to de-duplicate counts) and the merchant name. No browsing history, page content, or personal information is collected.
Interaction events (Supabase): When you interact with the checkout modal (skip, proceed, or dismiss), we record the merchant name, amount bucket, currency, outcome, and time taken to decide. Your install ID is included to de-duplicate counts. No exact purchase amount, APR, or personal identity is sent.
Legal basis: Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — anonymized product analytics to operate and improve the service. No data is sold or used for advertising.
Error reporting is on by default. When the extension encounters an unexpected failure, a report is sent to Sentry that may include the page URL and a stack trace. No purchase data or personal information is included. You can turn this off at any time from the extension settings under Privacy.
The extension checks a CDN endpoint once per day for updated site selector configurations. This allows us to fix broken checkout detection without requiring an extension update. No personal data is sent during this request.
You can, at any time:
Skip events older than 24 months are automatically purged from local storage. This purge runs when the extension starts.
NoRushBuy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
